A wonderfully warm show featuring some of the classic stories of New Zealand’s own literary treasure, Margaret Mahy - “The Witch in the Cherry Tree”, “A Lion in the Meadow” and “Leaf Magic”. They flow almost as one story following the adventures of a young boy, David, and his remarkable encounters with a greedy witch, a lion in the meadow and a playful leaf. Presented with the kind permission of Margaret Mahy.
"Cheerful masks and clever direction made a fine job of bringing to life three favourite Margaret Mahy stories... The three-year-old was enthralled and even his cynical nine-year-old cousin and her almost-teenage sister, computer kids they may be, were fairly impressed." NZ Herald
One of the highlights of the season is a special performance where New
Zealand Sign Language interpreters will be part of the show, so that deaf and
hearing impaired children and their families can also enjoy the magic of live
theatre.
